NATIONAL LAW DAY 2026

Whereas, the Declaration of Independence states that all individuals are endowed with certain unalienable rights and chief among them are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; and
 
Whereas, the Rule of Law, as defined by the World Justice Project, refers to a system of self-government in which the government and all individuals are held accountable to a set of fair, publicized and broadly understood laws that are evenly enforced; and
 
WHEREAS, in 1931, James Truslow Adams defined the “American Dream” in Epic of America as “a dream of a social order in which each man and each woman shall be able to attain to the fullest stature of which they are innately capable, and be recognized by others for what they are, regardless of the fortuitous circumstances of birth or position”; and
