HONORING ENLACE CHICAGO FOR ITS 35 YEARS OF SERVICE TO LITTLE VILLAGE, NORTH LAWNDALE, AND CHICAGO

WHEREAS, Enlace Chicago was founded as the Little Village Community Development Corporation in 1990 by local leaders to drive a resident-led vision for neighborhood improvements; and 

WHEREAS, since its establishment thirty five years ago, Enlace has had an unwavering commitment to building community power through organizing, strengthening networks, and delivering neighborhood-based services that advance health, protect human rights, foster peace, and build resilience; and 

WHEREAS, Enlace has been critical in building community, helping residents establish block clubs and connecting residents with one another to advocate for a stronger community; and 

WHEREAS, Enlace’s 2005 Quality of Life Plan led to transformational developments in the community including but not limited to the construction of Little Village High School along with the development of parks and public spaces, and the expansion of community schools and arts collaboratives; and
