Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION REQUESTING PROGRESS UPDATES ON ASSUMPTION OF DUTIES FROM RECORDER OF DEEDS BY THE COUNTY CLERK WHEREAS, on November 8, 2016, the Cook County electorate voted by referendum to transfer the duties and responsibilities of the Office of the Cook County Recorder of Deeds to the Office of the Cook County Clerk by December 7, 2020; and WHEREAS, the final assumption of duties from the Recorder of Deeds by the Cook County Clerk has occurred and the final implementation plan report, Item # 20-4191, was presented and filed with the Cook County Board of Commissioners on October 22, 2020 and the final assumption of duties was completed by November 30, 2020; and WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the Board and of the citizens of Cook County to ensure that the assumption of duties is moving smoothly and that the former functions of the Recorder of Deeds are being efficiently and effectively handled by the Clerk’s office.
