Summary: The Department of Transportation and Highway respectfully submits the Cook County Safety Action Plan (SAP). The SAP was developed by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) in partnership with the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways (DoTH). The SAP is a roadmap for improving traffic safety by reducing the risk of death and serious injury on all public roads in Cook County, particularly for people walking and biking and for communities with disproportionately excessive crash rates. By combining community experiences and data analysis. The SAP identifies practical actions and innovative solutions to make roads within Cook County safer for all.
