PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING TERESA A. CAMACHO HURTADO FOR HER OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER SERVICE TO COOK COUNTY
WHEREAS, Cook County recognizes the invaluable contributions of individuals who dedicate their time, energy, and compassion to the betterment of our community; and
WHEREAS, Teresa A. Camacho Hurtado, born in Bolivia and having raised her family in Caracas, Venezuela, belonged to the Bolivian Ladies Association, participating in numerous civic actions and community projects in both Venezuela and Bolivia; and
WHEREAS, Teresa currently resides in Chicago. During her stay in this city, she has offered her services with humility and unwavering commitment, and has been a devoted volunteer and community supporter for the past four years; and
WHEREAS, at 93 years of age, Teresa exemplifies the spirit of civic engagement and proves that age is no barrier to making a meaningful impact; and
WHEREAS, Teresa has quietly and lovingly contributed to Cook County’s efforts by preparing gifts for children, labeling donations for seniors and those in need, and bringing joy to the office through her thoughtful holiday decorations; and
WHEREAS, her silent acts of kindness and tireless dedication have touched the lives of many and reflect the highest values of community service; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cook County Board of Commissioners hereby recognizes and honors Teresa A. Camacho Hurtado for her extraordinary service and declares her the Honorary Grandmother of Cook County; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be presented to Teresa as a token of our deepest appreciation and admiration.
HONRANDO A TERESA A. CAMACHO HURTADO POR SU DESTACADO SERVICIO VOLUNTARIO AL CONDADO DE COOK
CONSIDERANDO QUE, el Condado de Cook reconoce las contribuciones invaluables de las personas que dedican su tiempo, energía y compasión al mejoramiento de nuestra comunidad; y
CONSIDERANDO QUE, Teresa A. Camacho Hurtado, nacida en Bolivia y habiendo criado a su familia en Caracas, Venezuela, perteneció a la Asociación de Damas Bolivianas, participando en numerosas acciones cívicas y proyectos comunitarios tanto en Venezuela como en Bolivia; y
CONSIDERANDO QUE, Teresa reside actualmente en Chicago. Durante su estadía en esta ciudad, ha ofrecido sus servicios con humildad y compromiso inquebrantable, y ha sido una voluntaria devota y partidaria de la comunidad durante los últimos cuatro años; y
CONSIDERANDO QUE, a los 93 años de edad, Teresa ejemplifica el espíritu de compromiso cívico y demuestra que la edad no es una barrera para tener un impacto significativo; y
CONSIDERANDO QUE, Teresa ha contribuido silenciosa y amorosamente a los esfuerzos del Condado de Cook preparando regalos para niños, etiquetando donaciones para personas mayores y necesitadas, y trayendo alegría a la oficina a través de sus decoraciones navideñas; y
CONSIDERANDO QUE, sus actos silenciosos de bondad y dedicación incansable han tocado la vida de muchos y reflejan los más altos valores del servicio comunitario; y
AHORA, POR LO TANTO, SE RESUELVE, QUE LA Junta de Comisionados del Condado de Cook por la presente reconoce y honra a Teresa A. Camacho Hurtado por su extraordinario servicio y la declara Abuela Honoraria del Condado de Cook; y
