Summary: The Department of Transportation and Highways respectfully requests the approval of the proposed amendment between the County and K-Five Construction Corporation, Westmont, Illinois.
On 2/6/2025, your Honorable Body awarded a contract to K-Five Construction Corporation, Westmont, Illinois for the aforesaid improvement to be completed in accordance with the plans and specifications.
The amendment accounts for changes associated with providing stone ramps for adjacent Tollway contract access, temporary pavement completion, Dominic Court lighting, removal of abandoned utilities, acceleration premium time costs, additional supervision costs, contract coordination with adjacent Illinois Tollway contracts, pavement maintenance, foundation removal, winter service and protection, railroad flaggers, sanitary sewer changes, protection of a sanitary force main, and barrier wall modifications. These changes include additional work to the contract as well as adjustment to contract pay items. All changes are germane to the contract and required to complete this project.
This contract was awarded pursuant to a publicly advertised Invitation for Bid (IFB) in accordance with the Cook County Procurement Code. K-Five Construction Corporation was the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder.
