Summary: The Department of Transportation and Highways respectfully requests approval of the proposed amendment between the County and F.H. Paschen, S.N. Nielsen & Associates, LLC, Chicago, Illinois.
On 1/25/2024, your Honorable Body awarded a contract to F.H. Paschen, S.N. Nielsen & Associates, LLC, Chicago, Illinois for the aforesaid improvement to be completed in accordance with the plans and specifications.
The amendment accounts for changes required from unforeseen field conditions including those associated with storm sewer work, roadway and bridge construction, unknown underground obstructions, and utility conflicts. This amendment also accounts for additional work not included in the project but was required to properly construct the project including work associated with drainage at the new Eden’s Expressway westbound exit ramp and missing pay items required for contract work, all changes are germane to the contract and required to complete the project as intended.
This contract was awarded pursuant to a publicly advertised Invitation for Bid (IFB) in accordance with the Cook County Procurement Code. F.H. Paschen, S.N. Nielsen & Associates, LLC was the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder.
