HONORING WYNONA REDMOND FOR RECEIVING THE 2018 PATRICIA L. TOBIN MEDIA PROFESSIONAL AWARD

 

WHEREAS, every year the National Association of Black Journalists recognizes one outstanding public relations, advertising, marketing professional, or media owner who serves as an industry trailblazer in affecting the positive representation of African Americans in the media with the Patricia L. Tobin Professional Award; and 

 

WHEREAS, this prestigious award is named after Patricia L. Tobin, a publicist, media entrepreneur and co-founder of the National Black Public Relations Society; and                      

 

WHEREAS, the 2018 Patricia L. Tobin Professional Award was awarded to Wynona Redmond at the 43rd National Association of Black Journalist Convention and Career Fair in Detroit, Michigan; and

 

WHEREAS, Wynona Redmond is President and Founder of Wyn-Win Communications, a boutique communications company based in Chicago, dedicated to helping organizations effectively engage the community, customers and other key audiences; and

 

WHEREAS, throughout her 27-year history as a public relations professional, Wynona Redmond has successfully led public affairs and community engagement responsibility in both the public and private sector, including Northstar Lottery Group, Dominick's Finer Foods, Illinois Department of Children & Family Services, the Chicago Housing Authority and Cook County Health and Hospitals System ; and

 

WHEREAS, Wynona Redmond is President Emeritus of the National Black Public Relations Society and former President of the Black Public Relations Society of Chicago; and

 

WHEREAS, Wynona Redmond has generously given her time and talent to mentor students and young professionals in addition to donating professional council to numerous nonprofits and community causes; and

 

WHEREAS, this achievement is a testament to Wynona Redmond’s extraordinary leadership as President Emeritus of the National Black Public Affairs Society and her dedication to excellence in public relations and the communications industry; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the President and the Cook County Board of Commissioners, on behalf of the residents of Cook County, hereby congratulate Wynona Redmond on the occasion of receiving the 2018 National Association of Black Journalists’ Patricia L. Tobin Media Professional award and applaud her dedicated service; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and a suitable copy of same be tendered to Wynona Redmond to recognize their remarkable achievements and dedication to the region.end
