Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF KALEB DEER WHEREAS, Kaleb Deer was a young man of purpose, compassion, and quiet strength, whose life-though brief-was marked by service, intention, and a deep commitment to uplifting others; and WHEREAS, Kaleb Deer was born on May 5, 2002, and transitioned on April 14, 2026, leaving behind love, and service; and WHEREAS, born to the late Cook County Commissioner Dennis Deer and Barbara Deer, Kaleb was raised in a family grounded in faith, discipline, and community, values he carried forward with humility while forging his own path; and WHEREAS, Kaleb was a devoted brother to Kanaan and Trinity, and a loving uncle to his niece, Kamora Deer, embodying the importance of family as both a foundation and a responsibility; and WHEREAS, Kaleb earned a degree in Psychology from Northern Illinois University and was actively pursuing his MBA, demonstrating a commitment to lifelong learning and a passion for understanding and supportin...

HONORING THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF KALEB DEER

 

WHEREAS, Kaleb Deer was a young man of purpose, compassion, and quiet strength, whose life-though brief-was marked by service, intention, and a deep commitment to uplifting others; and

 

WHEREAS, Kaleb Deer was born on May 5, 2002, and transitioned on April 14, 2026, leaving behind love, and service; and

 

WHEREAS, born to the late Cook County Commissioner Dennis Deer and Barbara Deer, Kaleb was raised in a family grounded in faith, discipline, and community, values he carried forward with humility while forging his own path; and

 

WHEREAS, Kaleb was a devoted brother to Kanaan and Trinity, and a loving uncle to his niece, Kamora Deer, embodying the importance of family as both a foundation and a responsibility; and

 

WHEREAS, Kaleb earned a degree in Psychology from Northern Illinois University and was actively pursuing his MBA, demonstrating a commitment to lifelong learning and a passion for understanding and supporting others; and

 

WHEREAS, as a Mental Health Counselor, Kaleb served individuals with compassion, dignity, and care, offering support during their most vulnerable moments and creating pathways for healing and growth; and

 

WHEREAS, his professional experiences included work at Stroger Hospital and within a congressional office, where he deepened his understanding of advocacy, public service, and community systems; and

 

WHEREAS, Kaleb was an entrepreneur and founder of Stealth Clothing, reflecting his creativity and vision, and was pursuing his real estate license with plans to build generational impact alongside his twin brother; and

 

WHEREAS, as a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, Kaleb exemplified the principles of leadership, discipline, and service, earning the respect of his peers through his integrity and dedication; and

 

WHEREAS, Kaleb Deer lived as a bridge between generations-honoring legacy while actively building for the future-and leaves behind a lasting impact on all who knew him;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, WE, MICHAEL SCOTT, JR., COOK COUNTY COMMISSIONER OF THE 2ND DISTRICT, BILL LOWRY, COOK COUNTY COMMISSIONER OF THE 3RD DISTRICT, AND TONI PRECKWINKLE, PRESIDENT OF THE COOK COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS: 

 

BE IT RESOLVED we hereby honor the life of Kaleb Deer, and extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, fraternity brothers, and all those whose lives he touched;

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kaleb Deer as a symbol of our deepest respect and heartfelt condolences.
