Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION CELEBRATING IHSA CLASS 8A STATE CHAMPIONS LOYOLA ACADEMY RAMBLERS WHEREAS, on Saturday, November 30, 2024, the Loyola Academy Ramblers varsity football team won its third consecutive IHSA Class 8A state title, and a 39-3 record over a three-year span thereby cementing its legacy as a powerhouse football program in the state of Illinois; and WHEREAS, the Ramblers over came a 1-2 start to the football season, turning things around to end 2024 with a 12-2 record; and WHEREAS, despite the bitter cold at Illinois Sate University's Hancock Stadium, the Ramblers bested the York Dukes 35-14 to clinch the Class 8A state title; and WHEREAS, the Ramblers trailed the Dukes early in the championship game, but the Ramblers began to pull ahead in the second quarter; and WHEREAS, the Ramblers banded together to come out on top in a hard-fought victory, leading to their sixth overall state title championship; and WHEREAS, in addition to their Class 8a win, the Ramblers...

PROPOSED RESOLUTION

 

CELEBRATING IHSA CLASS 8A STATE CHAMPIONS LOYOLA ACADEMY RAMBLERS

 

WHEREAS, on Saturday, November 30, 2024, the Loyola Academy Ramblers varsity football team won its third consecutive IHSA Class 8A state title, and a 39-3 record over a three-year span thereby cementing its legacy as a powerhouse football program in the state of Illinois; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ramblers over came a 1-2 start to the football season, turning things around to end 2024 with a 12-2 record; and 

 

WHEREAS, despite the bitter cold at Illinois Sate University’s Hancock Stadium, the Ramblers bested the York Dukes 35-14 to clinch the Class 8A state title; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ramblers trailed the Dukes early in the championship game, but the Ramblers began to pull ahead in the second quarter; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ramblers banded together to come out on top in a hard-fought victory, leading to their sixth overall state title championship; and

 

WHEREAS, in addition to their Class 8a win, the Ramblers also captured the Chicago Catholic League Blue Division title; and 

 

WHEREAS, senior Drew MacPherson was named to the Illinois High School Coaches Association All State Team, as well as the Chicago Catholic League Blue Lawless Player of the Year; and

 

WHEREAS, acknowledgment of their talent and efforts, several Ramblers have received the Chicago Catholic League All Conference recognition including: Charlie Daly ('25), Ryan Fitzgerald ('25), Tommy Ghislandi ('25), Joey Herbert ('25), Brendan Loftus ('25), Drew MacPherson ('25), Charlie Prior ('25) and Donovan Robinson ('25); and

 

WHEREAS, the Ramblers are led by Coach Beau Desherow; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ramblers coaching staff includes numerous Loyola alumni who played for the Ramblers and now mentor the next generation including Head Coah Beau Desherow ('93),  Defensive Back Coach Eric Bielinski ('12),  Defensive Coordinator Pete Devine ('90), Outside Linebacker Coach Mike Dooley ('82), Running Backs Coach Ryan Gallagher ('93),  Offensive Line/TE Coach Mike Herbert ('85), Offensive Line Coach Mike Kotowski ('87),  Wide Receiver Coach Pat Naughton ('96), and Analytics Coach Michael Scott ('12); and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President of the Cook County Board and the Cook County Board of Commissioners does hereby celebrate the Loyola Academy Ramblers football team’s Class 8A State Championship; and  

   

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and a suitable copy of the same be tendered to the Loyola Academy Ramblers football team as a means of conveying our congratulations on this historic win.end
