COMMEMORATION OF AFRICAN AMERICAN LOCAL HEROES IN CELEBRATION OF BLACK HISTORY MONTH AT “I AM BLACK HISTORY IN THE MAKING” EVENT

 

WHEREAS, the richness of Black History Month is an opportunity for reflection, celebration, and recognition of the invaluable contributions made by African Americans throughout history; and

 

WHEREAS, in our community, there exist remarkable individuals whose tireless efforts, unwavering dedication, and inspiring actions have significantly impacted and enriched the lives of those around them; and

 

WHEREAS, the event to honor real-life African American heroes serves as a beacon of inspiration, highlighting the diversity, resilience, and positive impact that characterize their endeavors; and

 

WHEREAS, the following individuals and organizations have demonstrated exceptional leadership, service, and commitment to uplifting our community:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, on this auspicious occasion, that Members of the Cook County Board of Commissioners wish to express our deepest gratitude and admiration for the outstanding achievements and contributions of these remarkable individuals and institutions. Let us join together in celebrating their legacy, acknowledging their impact, and reaffirming our commitment to fostering a more inclusive, equitable, and just society for all.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body and a suitable copy be presented to the honorees as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
