COOK COUNTY HONORED WITH 54 NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

 

WHEREAS, Cook County was honored with 54 Achievement Awards from the National Association of Counties (NACo), the highest number of awards the County has ever received, including one Best in Category; and

 

WHEREAS, the NACo awards honor innovative, effective county government programs that strengthen services for residents; and

 

WHEREAS, the recognition of so many essential programs and initiatives led by Cook County is a source of pride for the President and Board of Commissioners and provides Cook County employees with well-deserved recognition; and

 

WHEREAS, this level of excellence in innovation and execution is attained through the ingenuity and hard work of the Cook County employees who have launched these critical programs for our residents; and

Bureau of Human Resources (1): “Enhancing Transparency & Equity as an Employer of Choice”

 

Bureau of Technology (3): “Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) System,” “Unincorporated Cook County Zoning Requirements App,” “Data Center Consolidation and Hyper-convergence”; and

 

Justice Advisory Council (1): “Starting Block Grants: A Capacity Building Grant Initiative”; and

 

WHEREAS, the Law Office of the Cook County Public Defender received four awards: “Cook County Forensic Reliability and Racial Impact Project,” “Professional Development Division of the Cook County Public Defender,” “Cook County Public Defender Immigration Division” and “Transforming Public Conversations about Community Safety”; and

 

WHEREAS, Cook County Health and Hospitals received 13 awards: “Members: FoodCare by CountyCare” (Best in Health Category Award), “Sal the Sepsis Sea Otter,” “Provident Hospital Growth Program,” “Addressing Food Insecurity among Medicaid,” “Provident Scholarship Fund,” “Employee Wellness as a Precursor to Better Patient Outcomes,” “Enhancing Healthcare Access through Express Care Initiative,” “Promoting Engagement to Enhance Recovery (PEER) Program,” “The Great Unwinding: Engaging Medicaid Members During Redetermination,” “The Development of the Population Health Epidemiology Surveillance Program,” “How Analytics & Operations Supported CCH's Mission to Care for New Arrivals,” “Medicaid Member Demographics Improvement: A Strategy for Engagement,” “Heart Institute Excellence Program,” “REACCH-OUT’s Bridge Clinic: Rapid Engagement and Access for Opioid Use”; and

 

WHEREAS, the Assessor’s Office received two awards: “New Affordable Housing Program Provides Property Tax Relief” and “Strategic Engagement to Encourage Employee Retention & Recruitment”; and

 

WHEREAS, the Office of the Circuit Court Clerk received two awards: “Domestic Violence Survivor Center (DVSC)” and “Customer Service Call Center (CSCC)”; and

 

WHEREAS, the Forest Preserve received recognition for one award: “Hydrologic Reconnection of Powderhorn Lake to Wolf Lake Restoration Project”; and

 

WHEREAS, the Cook County Housing Authority received one award: “Behavioral Healthcare Initiative”; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and the Cook County Board of Commissioners do hereby extend hearty congratulations to the Cook County employees who have worked so diligently to ensure the success of the 54 programs recognized by the National Association of Counties Achievement Awards, more information about which may be found on the National Association of Counties website (www.naco.org).
