Summary: The Department of Transportation and Highways respectfully request the approval of the proposed Contract between the County and Builders Paving, LLC, Hillside, Illinois.
This contract for the Construction Services is for the pavement rehabilitation of seven corridors throughout north Cook County. The improvements will enable the Department to protect the public investment in the transportation system by extending the useful life of roadways. If this rehabilitation work is not performed, the useful life of the roadways will be shortened, requiring their full replacement sooner and at greater costs.
The scope includes construction work on these seven corridors. The improvements consist of milling and resurfacing of HMA roadways, pavement patching, curb and gutter removal and replacements, median removal, construction of sidewalk ramps, roadway culvert repairs and cleaning, guardrail improvements, pavement marking updates, and shoulder improvements.
This contract was awarded pursuant to a publicly advertised Invitation for Bid (IFB) in accordance with the Cook County Procurement Code. Builders Paving, LLC was the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder.
