PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING THE LIFE AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF T.L. ARENDS
WHEREAS, Almighty God in his infinite wisdom has called T.L. Arends from our midst; and
WHEREAS, T.L. Arends, fond sister of Carole (Gilbert) Baumann, Jan (Harold) Sanderson, the late Stuart S. (Shelley) Stone, the late Rocky (Linda) Stone, and the late Kay Haas, dear grandmother of Lucinda Katherine, Ellen Virginia, Graham Hubert, Grace Stone, and Lucas Liam, loving mother of Scott (Kirsten) Sumner, and Kristina (Bill) Gabrenya, Beloved Wife of Thomas, was a career banker and was also very active in her community; and
WHEREAS, T.L. was a long-time resident, dedicated public official, and beloved civic leader who was always an unwavering community champion, and the Village of Bartlett would be hard pressed to find someone who could match the love and devotion she always had for Bartlett; and
WHEREAS, T.L. served on numerous boards and commissions in Bartlett including;
WHEREAS, T.L. was Bartlett Park District Commissioner from 1979-1991; and
WHEREAS, she was Chairman of the Bartlett Unit Salvation Army 1982-2009; and
WHEREAS, Bartlett Chamber of Commerce President 1984, Bartlett Park District Board President 1986, Bartlett Economic Development Commission 1986, Bartlett Zoning Board of Appeals 1987; and
WHEREAS, first female member Bartlett Lions Club 1987-Present, President Elgin High PTO 1990, Co-Chairperson Bartlett Centennial 1991; and
WHEREAS, named Bartlett Living Legend 1991, Founder and first Chairperson Bartlett 4th of July Committee 1993-1994, Bartlett Veterans Memorial Foundation Board 2006-2009, Bartlett Rotary President 2009, Bartlett Village Trustee 1991-Present, as well as many other organizations; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and the Cook County Board of Commissioners does hereby offer its deepest condolences and most heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of T.L. Arends and joins them in sorrow at this time of loss; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and that a suitable copy of the same be tendered to the family of T.L. Arends so that her memory may be so honored and ever cherished.
