Summary: This request to extend will permit the County to continue to receive assistance with the identification and recovery of over $63 million in County funds incurred for detaining undocumented and unknown individuals in the County’s correctional facilities through the federal government’s State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP). Justice Benefits, Inc. will provide assistance in gathering information pertaining to the undocumented individuals and the associated cost, as well as provide technical assistance with the submission of the SCAAP funding request to the federal government.
This is a Comparable Government Procurement pursuant to Section 34-140 of the Cook County Procurement Code. Justice Benefits Inc. was previously awarded a contract through a Request for Proposals (RFP) process by the County of Boulder, Colorado. Cook County wishes to leverage this procurement effort.
