PROPOSED RESOLUTION
CELEBRATING PROSPECT HEIGHTS RESIDENT AND MISS UNIVERSE CONTESTANT EMILY RENG
WHEREAS, Prospect Heights resident Emily Reng recently represented Poland at the 2025 Miss Universe Competition in Thailand; and
WHEREAS, Emily Reng has called Prospect Heights home since she was just six months old and is deeply rooted in the community, attend Gary Morava Preschool, elementary and middle school in School District 23, and John Hersey High School where she participated in Show Choir and Cheer; and
WHEREAS, Emily Reng grew up in a Polish household, which has fostered a deep appreciation for her heritage; and
WHEREAS, Emily Reng spent many summers in Poland where she deepened relationships with extended family members and cultivated a further understanding of Polish traditions and values; and
WHEREAS, when on the Miss Universe stage, Emily Reng is able to utilize the resilience and warmth learned from her family, and pair it with the confidence and openness she learned growing up in Prospect Heights; and
WHEREAS, Emily Reng competed alongside more than 120 women from around the world, where contestants encouraged and inspired one another; and
WHEREAS, Emily Reng credits the lessons in humility and community that she learned as a Prospect Heights denizen for helping her pursue her dreams on the Miss Universe stage; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President of the Cook County Board and the Cook County Board of Commissioners does hereby celebrate Emily Reng’s determination, dedication and tenacity; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and a suitable copy of the same be tendered to Emily Reng as a means of conveying our congratulations.end
