PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING ORLANDO BROWN ON HIS RETIREMENT AND RECOGNIZING HIS DISTINGUISHED SERVICE IN GOVERNMENT
WHEREAS, Orlando Brown, is retiring from Cook County as the Deputy Director of Labor Relations (Bargaining); and
WHEREAS, Orlando Brown, has served over thirty-three (33) years working for Cook County and the Chicago Park District; and
WHEREAS, Orlando Brown, is a trained Human Resources and Labor Relations professional who has had a lifelong passion for public service serving in the areas of Human Resources and Labor Relations and was known for his ability to do what was in the best interest of Cook County while building and maintaining relationships across lines of differences; and
WHEREAS, Orland Brown is a graduate of Roosevelt University with a Master of Public Administration degree and a graduate of Kentucky State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration; and
WHEREAS, as Orlando Brown held positions in the Chicago Park District as a Human Resources Manager and Manager/Coordinator Examinations & Test Development from 1989 through 1992. During this period, he was instrumental in the reorganization of the Chicago Park Districts' classified civil service system; and
WHEREAS, Orlando Brown started his Cook County career in 1993, where he served at Provident Hospital as the Associate Administrator of Human Resources and Human Resources Administrator from 1993 through 2008; and
WHEREAS, Orlando Brown served as the Director of Labor Relations for the Cook County Health Hospital System from 2008 through 2015 before finally finishing his career in the Cook County Bureau Human Resources as the Deputy Director of Labor Relations (Bargaining), from 2018 through 2024. During his tenure at Cook County, he was instrumental in the negotiation of multiple collective bargaining agreements on behalf of Cook County; and
WHEREAS, as Orlando Brown is very active in the community and an active member of Omega Psi Phi...
