Summary: The Department of Transportation and Highways respectfully requests approval of the proposed contract amendment between the County and Sicalco, Ltd., Hinsdale, Illinois. This increase and third and final of three (3), one (1) year renewal options will allow the Department to continue to receive calcium chloride. The calcium chloride is needed for winter operations utilized Countywide through our Maintenance bureau.
This contract was awarded through a publicly advertised competitive bid in accordance with the Cook County Procurement Code. Sicalco, Ltd., was the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder.
