PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING ARAB AMERICAN FAMILY SERVICES 10TH ANNUAL WALK IN FAITH NOT IN FEAR
WHEREAS, Arab American Family Services is a social service agency founded in 2001 providing caring, compassionate assistance to (South Suburban) Chicagoland residents; and
WHEREAS, Arab American Family Services offers support in a number of areas of including public benefits, immigration, domestic violence, mental health, and elderly services and sponsors outreach programs to build healthier families and communities; and
WHEREAS, Arab American Family Services strives to fulfill its mission to serve not only Arab Americans but any families, individuals, or those in need by providing them access to services; and
WHEREAS, the month of October is recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month; and
WHEREAS, Arab American Family Services is fulfilling its mission in advocating for and supporting these causes by holding their 10th Annual Walk in Faith Not if Fear for Domestic Violence and Cancer on October 28, 2017; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cook County Board of Commissioners does recognize Arab American Family Services for their leadership in their community and thanks them for hosting their 10th Annual Walk in Faith Not in Fear; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this Resolution be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body and that an official copy of same be tendered to Arab American Family Services.
