EARNEST WALLACE IN MEMORIAM

 

WHEREAS the Cook County Assessor’s Office wishes to acknowledge the passing of  Earnest Wallace, an employee of the Cook County Assessor’s Office who passed away on Sunday, August 31st, 2025; and

 

WHEREAS Earnest Wallace served the Cook County Assessor’s Office with distinction for twenty-three years and was a resident of West Pullman in the City of Chicago; and

 

WHEREAS Earnest Wallace spent the entirety of his career at the Assessor’s Office helping Cook County property owners with their concerns and devoting his life to public service; and

 

WHEREAS Earnest Wallace received commendations for his compassion, patience, and professionalism when interacting with the public and was considered an expert in the complicated subject of property tax savings for residential cooperative properties; and

 

WHEREAS Earnest Wallace aka “The Deacon” was adored by his colleagues for always having a kind word for all and being one of the best-dressed employees in the office, and was often asked for by name by those who he’d helped before; and

 

WHEREAS Earnest Wallace’s service to Cook County will be a legacy for all to admire; and

 

WHEREAS Earnest Wallace is survived by his son, daughter, and grandchildren who will cherish his memory always; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Cook County that the Board does in this moment extend its deepest condolences and most heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends, and co-workers of Earnest Wallace and joins them in sorrow at this time of loss; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this text be shared in the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and an official copy of same be presented to the family of Earnest Wallace so that his memory may be honored and ever cherished.
