Purpose: The Cook County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is requesting authorization to accept a new grant award in the amount of $1,100,000.00 from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) for the Second Chance Act Pay for Success Initiative. The overall strategy of the grant is to expand the Community Resource Center (CRC) through increased programming and partnerships that not only reduce recidivism but strengthen service provider and individual relationships in the target Cook County communities. The proposed grant will address current systemic and environmental gaps, especially those identified as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
