PROPOSED RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING GREGORY COLES, FOUNDER OF SELOC LLC, AS A TRAILBLAZER IN AUTOMOTIVE INNOVATION AND LEADER IN ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
WHEREAS, Gregory Coles, a distinguished leader and innovator in the automotive industry, has demonstrated exceptional foresight, determination, and inventive spirit, particularly within the Black automotive community;
WHEREAS, Gregory Coles founded SELOC LLC in 2019, a pioneering company dedicated to reducing automotive carbon emissions through innovative electrification solutions and fleet retrofit programs;
WHEREAS, under his visionary leadership, SELOC LLC has developed a comprehensive, vehicle-agnostic platform that supports the electrification of fleets, promotes local economic growth, and creates employment opportunities;
WHEREAS, Gregory Coles has championed the development of the Electric Vehicle Conversion Program (ECP), which provides technical training and workforce development for individuals aged 18 and older, thereby fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the industry;
WHEREAS, his efforts have significantly contributed to the reduction of harmful emissions, including hundreds of thousands of pounds of CO2, and have promoted sustainable practices in transportation, particularly in converting school and city buses to electric power;
WHEREAS, Gregory Coles's commitment to innovation, environmental stewardship, pilot projects, and community upliftment exemplifies the highest standards of leadership and service;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the members of Cook County, hereby recognize and commend Gregory Coles for his groundbreaking contributions to automotive technology, environmental sustainability, and economic development;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this body extends its deepest appreciation to Gregory Coles for his continued dedication to creating a cleaner, more equitable, and innovative future for all.
