PROPOSED RESOLUTION
CELEBRATING THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF D&A AUTO REPAIR
WHEREAS, D&A Auto Repair, located at 46th Street and Western Avenue in the Back of the Yards neighborhood of Chicago, has proudly served residents and local businesses for thirty years, providing reliable, honest, and high-quality automotive repair services; and
WHEREAS, D&A Auto Repair was founded and is owned by Mr. Damasio Ramirez, an immigrant from Durango, Mexico, whose hard work, perseverance, and entrepreneurial spirit reflect the values that strengthen Cook County’s neighborhoods and local economy; and
WHEREAS, for three decades, Mr. Ramírez and D&A Auto Repair have contributed to the economic vitality of the Back of the Yards community by creating jobs, supporting working families, and sustaining a trusted small business rooted in service and integrity; and
WHEREAS, beyond his role as a business owner, Mr. Ramírez is civically engaged and committed to improving his community, demonstrating leadership through service, participation, and dedication to making Back of the Yards a better place to live and work; and
WHEREAS, the longevity and success of D&A Auto Repair stand as a testament to the importance of small, locally owned businesses in fostering economic opportunity, neighborhood stability, and community pride throughout Cook County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cook County Board of Commissioners hereby recognizes and celebrates the 30th Anniversary of D&A Auto Repair and commends Mr. Damasio Ramírez for his entrepreneurial achievements, civic engagement, and lasting contributions to the Back of the Yards community and the Cook County economy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Damasio Ramírez and the team at D&A Auto Repair as an honorable expression of appreciation and best wishes for continued success in the years to come.end
