RESOLUTION COMMERMORATING THE 119TH ANNIVERSARY OF CHICAGO LOCAL 0001 OF THE AMERICAN POSTAL WORKERS UNION (APWU)

WHEREAS, Chicago Local 0001 of the American Postal Workers Union (APWU) proudly celebrates the 119th Anniversary of its charter, marking more than a century of unwavering commitment to the dignity, safety, and economic security of postal workers and their families; and

WHEREAS, since its founding, Chicago Local 0001 has served as a powerful voice for working people, advocating for fair wages, safe working conditions, collective bargaining rights, and the preservation of quality public postal services for residents across Chicago, Cook County, and the nation; and

WHEREAS, the United States Postal Service has long been a cornerstone of American democracy, ensuring reliable communication, commerce, and civic participation, and postal workers have played an essential role in connecting communities, strengthening neighborhoods, and supporting economic stability in times of peace, crisis, and national transition; and
