PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING TOP LADIES OF DISTINCTION
WHEREAS, the Top Ladies of Distinction (TLOD) was founded in 1963 by Major Ozell Dean, the first African-American flight nurse in the United States Air Force, to address moral and social issues affecting the youth in the U.S.; and
WHEREAS, the founders of the Top Ladies of Distinction conceived its founding during a White House luncheon and formally established the Top Ladies of Distinction after a meeting with former First Lady, Lady Bird Johnson; and
WHEREAS, the Top Ladies of Distinction is dedicated to utilizing the skills and talents of women to improve the lives of young people and address critical issues facing our communities; and
WHEREAS, the Top Ladies of Distinction continues to demonstrate a commitment to excellence and consistently upholds the values of integrity, leadership, and service; and
WHEREAS, the Top Ladies of Distinction is a leading voice for positive change and has made significant contributions to society through various programs and initiatives; and
WHEREAS, the Top Ladies of Distinction continue to demonstrate exceptional dedication and commitment to their respective fields and communities; and
WHEREAS the Top Ladies of Distinction's achievements and contributions continuously and profound impact society and serve as an inspiration to others; and
WHEREAS, the Top Ladies of Distinction consistently display grace, poise, and professionalism in all their endeavors; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Top Ladies of Distinction reaffirm their commitment to the organization's founding principles and mission to make a positive impact on the lives of young people and the communities we serve.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, we express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to Major Ozell Dean, the founder of TLOD, for her vision, leadership, and dedication to improving the lives of others and
