PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING THE LIFE OF ALVIN J. ROBINSON
WHEREAS, Alvin J. Robinson led a life of extraordinary accomplishment and service to his community; and
WHEREAS, Alvin J. Robinson was a civil rights activist who marched alongside Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Congressman John Lewis, and many other civil rights leaders; and
WHEREAS, Alvin J. Robinson was a passionate reader, jazz and sports enthusiast, and lover of travel, basketball, and football, as well as, an accomplished writer and painter; and
WHEREAS, Alvin J. Robinson was the founder and President of several successful companies, including Stop-Leak, Incorporated, Urban Development Corporation, and Insurer's Review Servies Agency, Incorporated; and
WHEREAS, Alvin J. Robinson received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to the community, including a Certificate of Recognition from the State of Illinois for his work in Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and recognition from the State of Illinois 84th General Assembly, House of Representatives, and the State of Illinois 84th General Assembly, Senate Resolution No. 168; and
WHEREAS, Alvin J. Robinson was a phenomenal mentor who was known for networking, motivating, supporting, and mentoring young professionals and entrepreneurs helping many young people establish their businesses; and
WHEREAS, Alvin J. Robinson embodied positive energy and had a smile that could light up a room, and will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his passion for living his best life;
WHEREAS, Alvin J. Robinson was a dedicated family man who cherished his loved ones and gave so much of himself to them; and
WHEREAS, Alvin J. Robinson had exceptional drive and determination in paving the way for others in his community; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE MEMBERS OF THIS BODY express their deepest gratitude and appreciation to the life of and many contributions and accomplishments of Alvi...
