Summary: Pursuant to Section 2-141 of the Cook County Code, I hereby appoint Velisha L. Haddox to the position of Chief of the Bureau of Human Resources.
Ms. Haddox most recently served in various legal capacities in the Office of the Governor of the State of Illinois, including Deputy General Counsel. Her responsibilities there included advising the Governor on legal matters and policy decisions; coordinating with State agencies, boards, and commissions regarding labor relations and other personnel matters; and consulting on labor matters. Prior to joining State government she worked in the litigation practice at multiple law firms.
Ms. Haddox holds a degree from the Beasly School of Law at Temple University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.
Velisha Haddox’s experience operating at high levels of State government and her history of collaboration with government stakeholders will be an asset to Cook County as the Chief of the Bureau of Human Resources. I submit this communication for your approval.
