She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Michigan, majoring in Economics; and WHEREAS, prior to her time at CNSCVB, Gina worked for the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau. RESOLUTION HONORING GINA SPECKMAN 20 YEARS AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AT CHICAGO’S NORTH SHORE CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU

 

WHEREAS, Gina Speckman is celebrating her 20th Anniversary as the executive director of the Skokie-based North Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau (CNSCVB) since October 2004; and

 

WHEREAS, Chicago’s North Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau (CNSCVB) is the state-certified destination marketing organization that covers the Evanston, Glencoe, Glenview, Lincolnwood, Northbrook, Prospect Heights, Skokie, Wheeling, Wilmette and Winnetka; and

 

WHEREAS, a native of Southfield, Michigan, and a resident of Wilmette, IL, Gina received her MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Michigan, majoring in Economics; and

 

WHEREAS,  prior to her time at CNSCVB, Gina worked for the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau. She served in several leadership positions at Choose Chicago over the course of 17 years and served as Chairman of Chicago Plus, the Board of Illinois Destinations Association, and the Board of Destinations International; and

 

WHEREAS, Gina is a proven and respected community leader known for her creativity, commitment and collaboration who has been a mentor and friend to all; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that on behalf of the President, the members of the Cook County Board of Commissioners, this legislative body honor and celebrate Gina Speckman and her many successes over her 20 years at Chicago’s North Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau, recognizing her dedication, innovation, and community spirit; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be presented to Gina Speckman as a token of our appreciation and recognition of her outstanding contribution to the community.
