Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION IN MEMORIAM OF THE HONORABLE BERYL HERMAN WHEREAS, Beryl Edith Herman of Lincolnwood, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025 at the age of 87 years old; and WHEREAS, Beryl worked for Lincolnwood School District 74 for a period of 28 years in various positions, including as an English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher. She devoted 30 years to educating children from diverse backgrounds in Lincolnwood; and WHEREAS, Beryl was first elected as the Village Clerk of Lincolnwood in 2005 and served for 20 years; and WHEREAS, as Village Clerk, Beryl's primary responsibilities focused on coordinating Village Board meeting minutes, answering residents' questions, and fulfilling her true passion of registering Lincolnwood voters. Beryl was known for her dedication to voter registration and community engagement; and WHEREAS, Beryl's dedication to her family, her students, and her community was an inspiration. IN MEMORIAM OF THE HONORABLE BERYL HERMAN

WHEREAS, Beryl Edith Herman of Lincolnwood, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025 at the age of 87 years old; and

WHEREAS, Beryl worked for Lincolnwood School District 74 for a period of 28 years in various positions, including as an English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher. She devoted 30 years to educating children from diverse backgrounds in Lincolnwood; and

WHEREAS, Beryl was first elected as the Village Clerk of Lincolnwood in 2005 and served for 20 years; and

WHEREAS, as Village Clerk, Beryl's primary responsibilities focused on coordinating Village Board meeting minutes, answering residents' questions, and fulfilling her true passion of registering Lincolnwood voters. Beryl was known for her dedication to voter registration and community engagement; and

WHEREAS, Beryl's dedication to her family, her students, and her community was an inspiration. She was a strong and intelligent advocate who recognized the humanity in all people. Beryl was a compassionate person; this quality served her well in her roles as a teacher and community office holder; and

WHEREAS, a helper by nature, Beryl's contributions over the years have left an indelible mark on the Village of Lincolnwood, and her commitment to excellence in public service has set a standard for all of us; and

WHEREAS, Beryl was predeceased by her parents, Ruth and Emanuel; her husband Ronald; and her son Daniel. She is survived by her daughter Ellen Baker (Jeff); and her grandson Eric.; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cook County Board of Commissioners does hereby offer its deepest condolences and most heartfelt sympathy to the family and many friends of the Honorable Beryl Herman; and
