Summary: This contract amendment is exercising both, 1-year renewals simultaneously with DTN to continue to provide for the Maintenance and Support of the Weather Notification System contract. The Contract was originally procured in 2012, via RFP, and DTN built a customized weather forecasting system for Cook County, with continued developmental input from EMRS. EMRS Weather is a 24/7 application that provides severe weather notifications, alerts and in-depth forecasts to EMRS and other Cook County agencies and municipalities. Weather conditions impact our ability to safely and effectively respond to emergency incidents. This system is considered one of the most sophisticated weather systems.
