PROPOSED INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT

Request: Authorization to enter into and execute an Intergovernmental Agreement between the Cook County Office of the Chief Judge, Juvenile Temporary Detention Center (JTDC) and the County of Jersey, on behalf of the Sheriff of Jersey County.
Goods or Services: JTDC agrees to provide temporary custody, specifically housing and detention services for minors authorized by JTDC, pursuant to the needs of Jersey County, while remaining in compliance with all statutory requirements for such activity.

Agreement Period: The Agreement shall commence upon execution by the Parties and shall remain in effect until November 30, 2027. The Agreement may be renewed for a period not to exceed two (2) years for each renewal.

Whereas Jersey County is desirous of utilizing the available housing for minors in need of detention services.
Jersey County agrees to reimburse the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center five hundred and twenty dollars ($520.00) per day, plus additional cost associated with transportation cost. Such payments will be remitted to JTDC and subsequently sent to the Cook County Comptroller for deposit.
