PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING THE APPOINTMENT AND SERVICE OF JOHN P. MURRAY
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) has appointed John P. Murray as its new Executive Director, recognizing his decades of service and expertise in protecting the region's water environment; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Murray brings more than twenty years of experience in the water industry, including a distinguished career within the MWRD where he has demonstrated exceptional leadership, technical knowledge, and unwavering commitment to public service; and
WHEREAS, throughout his career, Mr. Murray has played an instrumental role in advancing the MWRD's mission to protect waterways, improve water quality, and strengthen stormwater management systems essential to the safety and environmental health of Cook County communities; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Murray's leadership has helped support innovative environmental initiatives, infrastructure improvements, and long-term sustainability planning that safeguard the region's natural resources for future generations; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Murray is a generous and kind and humorous leader that has helped provide thoughtful and stable leadership in times of challenges at MWRD. He embodies the spirit, vision and mission of the district in so many ways; and
WHEREAS, his appointment as Executive Director reflects the trust and confidence placed in his vision, experience, and dedication to strengthening the agency's impact across the region; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cook County Board of Commissioners, on behalf of the residents of Cook County and the Office of 13th District Commissioner Josina Morita, does hereby honor and congratulate John P. Murray on his appointment as Executive Director of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, and recognizes his outstanding service and continued commitment to environmental stewardship; and
