Summary: This increase and first of two (2), two (2) year renewal options will allow the Department of Risk Management to continue to receive Prescription Benefits Management Services.
Cook County provides prescription drug benefits alongside group medical coverage and leverages the standard CVS formulary for members. Prescriptions can be filled through local pharmacies or through mail order. A co-pay is required at the point of sale, with the remaining cost supported by annual appropriations.
This contract was awarded through a publicly advertised Request for Proposals (RFP) process in accordance with Cook County Procurement Code. Caremark PCS Health, LLC was selected based on established evaluation criteria.
