Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING THE VILLAGE OF BROADVIEW ON THE OCCASION OF ITS CENTENNIAL WHEREAS, The members of the Cook County Board wish to acknowledge and honor the Village of Broadview in this, the Village of Broadview's centennial year; and WHEREAS, the Village of Broadview has always been a productive and outstanding part of Cook County, Illinois; and WHEREAS, Broadview has long been a place where people have gathered to settle and raise their families. Prior to its incorporation as the Village of Broadview in 1914, native Americans and settlers found the area that would become Broadview a great place to settle because of its location and proximity to resources; and WHEREAS, Broadview was incorporated in 1914 as a small community of approximately 200 families; and WHEREAS, today, Broadview's population has risen to approximately 8,500 residents and 3,500 families; and WHEREAS, Broadview retains its "small-town" feel while existing only 13 miles and 20 minute...

HONORING THE VILLAGE OF BROADVIEW ON THE OCCASION OF ITS CENTENNIAL

WHEREAS, The members of the Cook County Board wish to acknowledge and honor the Village of Broadview in this, the Village of Broadview's centennial year; and

WHEREAS, the Village of Broadview has always been a productive and outstanding part of Cook County, Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Broadview has long been a place where people have gathered to settle and raise their families. Prior to its incorporation as the Village of Broadview in 1914, native Americans and settlers found the area that would become Broadview a great place to settle because of its location and proximity to resources; and

WHEREAS, Broadview was incorporated in 1914 as a small community of approximately 200 families; and

WHEREAS, today, Broadview's population has risen to approximately 8,500 residents and 3,500 families; and

WHEREAS, Broadview retains its "small-town" feel while existing only 13 miles and 20 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Broadview's suburban setting offers a respite from the business of the big city, while putting restaurants, sports arenas, shopping centers and convention/meeting facilities just minutes away; and

WHEREAS, the Village of Broadview's residents are hardworking, industrious and prosperous; and

WHEREAS, the goodness of the residents of Broadview is clearly reflected in the Village of Broadview's excellent community spirit and civic pride; and

WHEREAS, the Village of Broadview is a friend to business and business development; and

WHEREAS, there are many businesses and developments located within the Village of Broadview; and

WHEREAS, the Village officially celebrated its centennial on July 26, 2014, with the Village of Broadview's first "Family Fest;" and

WHEREAS, the Village of Broadview's centennial was celebrated with a Parade and speeches by Governor Pat Quinn, Congressman Danny Davis, State Senat...
