Summary: The Cook County Clerk requests authorization for the Chief Procurement Officer to enter into and execute a contract with Runbeck Elections Services, LLC for Sentinel Secure Smart Dropbox units. This contract will improve transparency, strengthen ballot chain-of-custody, and provide election officials with real-time monitoring and reporting capabilities. Runbeck Election Services, LLC is the only vendor that can perform services and provide supplies because Runbeck Elections Services, LLC developed the technology used for the Sentinel Secure Smart Dropbox and are the only producer for the product. The Sentinel Dropbox is especially compatible with our Agilis mail ballot processing unit as the Vendor also developed the technology of the Agilis.
This is a Sole Source Procurement pursuant to Section 34-139 of the Cook County Procurement Code.
