PROPOSED RESOLUTION
CELEBRATING 95TH BIRTHDAY OF MRS. GRACE BLACK
WHEREAS, Mrs. Grace Black of Chicago, Illinois will celebrate her 95th birthday surrounded by family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Black was born on September 4, 1920, in Anniston, Alabama to Daisy Mae and John Henry Thomas; and
WHEARAS, Mrs. Black has one son, Emanuel Williams and two granddaughters Pamela Williams and April Williams-Luster (Stephen); and
WHEARAS, Mrs. Black was a dedicated employee for Sears, Roebuck and Company for over twenty years; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Black has been a faithful and active member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church for over 40 years where she willingly served on the Women’s Board; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Black has continued to thrive and remain active by socializing with her neighbors at the Chatham Park South Senior Co-Op Living Facility where she resides. Three days a week she walks one-mile with the Chatham Walkers, enjoys movie nights and never misses the Friday night Bid Whist Game where she has been known to be very competitive; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Black has touched the lives of all who have embraced her warm heart and generosity. She has been an excellent mother, mother in law, a loving grandmother, a sister, sister- in law and role model who embodies faith and strong character. Mrs. Black has been an inspiration to a host of Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She is also the essence of true friendship to her closest friends; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and Board of Commissioners of Cook County congratulate Mrs. Grace Black on the occasion of her 95th birthday and wish her continued health and happiness for years to come.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this text is spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body and a suitable copy of same be tendered to Mrs. Grace Black to celebrate the auspicious occasion.
