Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION PROPOSED RESOLUTION FOR BENITA SANTILLANES WHEREAS, Benita Santillanes is being honored by The National Conference of Puerto Rican Women (NACOPRW) Inc., which is a non-profit, non-partisan, organization dedicated to promoting the full participation of Puerto Rican and other Hispanic women in their economic, social and political life in the United States and Puerto Rico; and WHEREAS, Benita is a living inspiration to Puerto Rican and other women of Hispanic heritage, and WHEREAS, Benita endured and survived leg amputation after and encounter with a DUI driver, as well as a mastectomy to fight breast cancer, and WHEREAS, her documentary "Beautifully Scarred" is on YouTube and helps bring awareness about mental health and coping issues, and WHEREAS, Benita began to use her life experience to do comedy, and as of January 2025, she hosts a podcast called, "It's A Life Thing", and WHEREAS, she is an actress at Dream Team Talent Agency and has owned Birthright Pro...

 PROPOSED RESOLUTION FOR BENITA SANTILLANES

 

WHEREAS, Benita Santillanes is being honored by The National Conference of Puerto Rican Women (NACOPRW) Inc., which is a non-profit, non-partisan, organization dedicated to promoting the full participation of Puerto Rican and other Hispanic women in their economic, social and political life in the United States and Puerto Rico; and

 

WHEREAS, Benita is a living inspiration to Puerto Rican and other women of Hispanic heritage, and

 

WHEREAS, Benita endured and survived leg amputation after and encounter with a DUI driver, as well as a mastectomy to fight breast cancer, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and Members of the Cook County Board of Commissioners honor Benita Santillanes on the recognition of her service to the Cook County community; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body and that a suitable copy be presented to Benita Santillanes.
