PROPOSED RESOLUTION
COOK COUNTY HONORED WITH 54 NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS
WHEREAS, Cook County was honored with 54 Achievement Awards from the National Association of Counties (NACo), the highest number of awards the County has ever received, including one Best in Category; and
WHEREAS, the NACo awards honor innovative, effective county government programs that strengthen services for residents; and
WHEREAS, the recognition of so many essential programs and initiatives led by Cook County is a source of pride for the President and Board of Commissioners and provides Cook County employees with well-deserved recognition; and
WHEREAS, this level of excellence in innovation and execution is attained through the ingenuity and hard work of the Cook County employees who have launched these critical programs for our residents; and
WHEREAS, Offices Under the President received 30 awards:
Office of the President (2): "Cook County Property Tax (PTAX) Reform Group" and "Medical Debt Relief Initiative"
Bureau of Administration (14): "BRITE," "Center for Hard to Recycle Materials," "Cook County Bike Plan," "Records and Information Management Improvements," "Cook County Medical Examiner Family Services Program," "Cook County Jail Overdose Prevention Program," "Neighborhood Revitalization Brownfield Remediation Program," "EMRS Private Partnership," "Vets and Pets," "Honor Grants," "Legal Resources Access and Training," "Public Safety Partnerships," "Cook County EMRS CERT Initiative" and "Cook County Technology Academy"
Bureau of Asset Management (4): the Bureau of Asset Management received recognition for four programs: "Youth Internship Program," "LED Light Replacement," "Build Up Cook" and "Cook County and WasteNot Partnership"
