PROPOSED RESOLUTION
CONGRATULATING 250 CHAMPIONS AWARD WINNER PHIL KIRALY
WHEREAS, Village of Glencoe Village Manager Phil Kiraly was recognized as one of the National Academy of Public Administration and Local Gov 250’s “250 Champions;” and
WHEREAS, Local Gov 250 is a national effort to honor and elevate the role of local government ahead of the upcoming bisesquicentennial; and
WHEREAS, the “250 Champions” initiative is a national honor that highlights individuals who go about and beyond in their roles, demonstrate excellence in public service, and make meaningful impact in the community; and
WHEREAS, Local Gov 250 received over 350 nominations for the Government Champions initiative from 40 states, the District of Columbia, and the Northern Mariana Islands; and
WHEREAS, Village Manager Kiraly is one of only two city managers in the State of Illinois to receive this honor; and
WHEREAS, Village Manager Kiraly is lauded for his leadership and commitment to serve the Glencoe community; and
WHEREAS, Village Manager Kiraly is Glencoe’s 8th Village Manager, and has been serving in the role since December 2013; and
WHEREAS, prior to his service in Glencoe, Village Manager Kiraly served the villages of Northbrook, Deerfield, and Skokie, as well as the Norridge Park District; and
WHEREAS, the “250 Champions” will be honored at an event ahead of the International City/County Management Association in Philadelphia in May; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Cook County Commissioner Scott Britton and the Board of Commissioners of Cook County does hereby offer its most heartfelt congratulations and accolades to Phil Kiraly for this well-deserved achievement; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and a suitable copy of the same be tendered to Phil Kiraly as a means of conveying our utmost gratitude for his work on behalf of the residents of Glencoe.
