Summary: DHSEM proposes to use UASI Grant Funding to purchase three Terradyne Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicles for the South Suburban Emergency Response Team (SSERT), Cook County Sheriff’s Police Hostage Barricade Terrorist Team (HBT), and District 5 SWAT. This effort is part of a larger initiative to ensure that all of the multijurisdictional Tactical Teams DHSEM supports are able to replace assets that are at the end of their operational life and are suitable for and able to operate in the urban area.
Competitive bidding procedures were followed in accordance with the Cook County Procurement Code. Terradyne Armored Vehicles, Inc. was the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder.
