PROPOSED RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION HONORING WOMEN IN MINISTRY
WHEREAS, the faith community is an integral part of the rich diversity empowering Cook County’s residents to pursue shared, just, and equitable life experiences; and
WHEREAS, women in ministry serve as equal partners and significantly contribute to the identity, mission, and essential initiatives of both the faith community and the broader community of Cook County; and
WHEREAS, the leadership of women in ministry reflects a diverse and inclusive composition encompassing various religions, creeds, nationalities, racial backgrounds, ethnic backgrounds, identity groups, and cultures; and
WHEREAS, women's faith ministries encompass a wide range of vital activities, including institutional formation, program development, program implementation, strategic decision-making, coalition building, partnerships, and the articulation of community voices and preferences, as well as, fostering practical and emotional understanding and driving social action; and
WHEREAS, women in ministry demonstrate resilience and dedication, striving for the betterment of all Cook County residents, often in the face of unjust resistance, devaluation, and marginalization due to their womanhood and courageous leadership.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, Cook County Board President, Toni Preckwinkle, Cook County Commissioner of the 3rd District, Bill Lowry, and the Cook County Board of Commissioners, on behalf of the residents of Cook County, hereby recognize and honor women in ministry for their invaluable contributions to the health and vitality of Cook County and its residents.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED: a copy of this Resolution will be filed within the Office of Cook County Commissioner Bill Lowry 3rd. District.
