HONORING GADS HILL CENTER 125TH ANNIVERSARY

WHEREAS, since 1898, Gads Hill Center has created opportunities for children and their families to build a better life through education, access to resources and community engagement; and

WHEREAS, Gads Hill Center supports working families through comprehensive programs and services that connect children and families to resources that meet their educational, employment, and health-related goals; and

WHEREAS, Gads Hill Center works with more than 4,500 children across Chicago by providing the following high-quality accredited programs and services; and

WHEREAS, the Early Childhood Education program empowers parents to be their children's first teachers with early childhood development resources including comprehensive educational and developmental services; and

WHEREAS, the Youth Services program provides out-of-school programs to children from kindergarten through sixth grade, mentoring to at-risk youth from sixth through eighth grade, and STEM-focused academic enrichment and college preparatory programs to high school students; and

WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Family Support and Community Services connects children and families to resources that meet their educational, job and health-related goals with programs such as the Family Engagement, Healthy Moves Program and Play Streets program; and

WHEREAS, the Mental Health Services program enhances academic success, social-emotional development and well-being through individualized support, access to mental health resources and community engagement; and

WHEREAS, their values consist of valuing children and families and their ability to learn, lead, grow and positively change their futures, transformational power of education, strength of families and engagement of communities, as well as their staff and supporters; and
