PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING THE WINNERS OF THE POP WARNER DIVISION II JUNIOR PEE WEE FOOTBALL NATIONAL TITLE THE HOFFMAN ESTATES JUNIOR PEE WEE REDHAWKS
WHEREAS , On December 12, 2014 The Hoffman Estates Redhawks Junior Pee Wee football team became national champions by defeating the Deer Valley Snakes of Arizona 16-0 in the 58th Pop Warner Division II Junior Pee Wee Division Super Bowl in Orlando, Florida; and
WHEREAS, The Hoffman Estates Redhawks Junior Pee Wee football team capped a perfect 3-0 stretch, beating the Stanley (NC) Blue Devils, 18-12, in the first round and the Watchung Hills (NJ) Wolverines, 35-12, during the semifinals; and
WHEREAS, The Hoffman Estates Redhawks Junior Pee Wee football team range from 9 to 11 years old and are from Hoffman Estates, Illinois and neighboring suburbs; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach Rick Cyr, along with fellow coaches Gregg Kirkwood, Bill Kirkwood, Mark Coalson and Chris Coalson brought The REDHAWKS to a perfect 13-0 season for 2014 and then on to victory at the Super-Bowl in Orlando, FL; and
WHEREAS, this win was the Redhawks First National Championship Trophy in the Program's History; and
WHEREAS, due to the special effort of Mark Muller and Blake Polony who also helped make it all possible for this fine young team to go on with an undefeated season; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and Members of the Cook County Board of Commissioners take this opportunity on behalf of Cook County to express congratulations to the Hoffman Estates Redhawks Junior Pee Wee Football Team for this accomplishment; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be spread upon the official proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of Cook County, and that a copy be transmitted as a testimonial of the high esteem and praise to the Hoffman Estates Redhawks Junior Pee Wee football team and its organization.
