Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING THE LIFE OF MINNIE JEAN SHIELDS BROWN WHEREAS, On Sunday, November 23, 2014, God in his own way and in His infinite wisdom called to his eternal reward Minnie Jean Shields Brown; and WHEREAS, Minnie Jean Shields Brown was born on June 19, 1944 to Christella Jones and Earl Shields, in Hollysprings Mississippi; and WHEREAS, Minnie Jean Shields Brown moved to Chicago in 1956 as a devoted Christian and dedicated her life to a career in cosmetology as she operated her own hair salon for many years; and WHEREAS, Minnie Jean Shields Brown was always extremely caring and shared her wonderful gift of service as a waitress at Daley's Restaurant where she was recognized as one of the best waitresses on the Southside of Chicago; and WHEREAS, Minnie Jean Shields Brown organized and was President of a small group of women at Daley's Restaurant called "The Daley's Elite" that shared many joyous occasions as they hosted several successful social g...

HONORING THE LIFE OF MINNIE JEAN SHIELDS BROWN

WHEREAS, On Sunday, November 23, 2014, God in his own way and in His infinite wisdom called to his eternal reward Minnie Jean Shields Brown; and

WHEREAS, Minnie Jean Shields Brown was born on June 19, 1944 to Christella Jones and Earl Shields, in Hollysprings Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, Minnie Jean Shields Brown moved to Chicago in 1956 as a devoted Christian and dedicated her life to a career in cosmetology as she operated her own hair salon for many years; and

WHEREAS, Minnie Jean Shields Brown was always extremely caring and shared her wonderful gift of service as a waitress at Daley's Restaurant where she was recognized as one of the best waitresses on the Southside of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Minnie Jean Shields Brown organized and was President of a small group of women at Daley's Restaurant called "The Daley's Elite" that shared many joyous occasions as they hosted several successful social gatherings and fundraisers; and

WHEREAS, Minnie Jean Shields Brown married Robert Brown in December 1973 and they shared over forty years of marriage until her transition from her earthly life; and

WHEREAS, Minnie Jean Shields Brown was a loving wife, devoted mother, and proud grandmother; Minnie leaves cherished memories in the hearts of her dear mother, Christella Shields, her beloved husband, Robert Brown, one daughter, Alexis Brown-Huff, one grandson, Alex Huff, one aunt, Aquilla McClarty, one sister, Chris Gardner, two brothers, John Earl and Willie Shields, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

BE IT RESOLVED, That the Cook County Board President and the Cook County Board of Commissioners, will gather together on the 17th Day of December, 2014 A.D., to express their honor and sorrow on the passing of Minnie Jean Shields Brown, and will extend to her family their sincere condolences; and
