Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION RESOLUTION HONORING DIANN K. MARSALEK WHEREAS, the Polish American Police Association of Chicago has named Diann K. Marsalek as Person of the Year for 2015; and WHEREAS, Diann Marsalek is the Supervising Judge of the District 1 Traffic Section of the Cook County Circuit Court; and WHEREAS, prior to serving as judge Diann Marsalek worked as the legal advisor to the Illinois Secretary of State from 2006-2011; and WHEREAS, Diann Marsalek was the chief legal counsel at the Illinois Department of Corrections from 2003-2005; and WHEREAS, Diann Marsalek is a member of a wide variety of bar associations, including the Chicago Bar Association, the Women's Bar Association, the Cook County Bar Association, the Justinian Society of Italian Lawyers, the Decalogue Society, the Advocate Society of Polish Lawyers, the Hellenic Bar Association, the Asian American Bar Association, and the Gay and Lesbian Bar Association, to name a few; and WHEREAS, Diann Marsal...

RESOLUTION HONORING DIANN K. MARSALEK  
 
WHEREAS, the Polish American Police Association of Chicago has named Diann K. Marsalek as Person of the Year for 2015; and
 
WHEREAS, Diann Marsalek is the Supervising Judge of the District 1 Traffic Section of the Cook County Circuit Court; and
 
WHEREAS, prior to serving as judge Diann Marsalek worked as the legal advisor to the Illinois Secretary of State from 2006-2011; and
 
WHEREAS, Diann Marsalek was the chief legal counsel at the Illinois Department of Corrections from 2003-2005; and
 
WHEREAS, Diann Marsalek is a member of a wide variety of bar associations, including the Chicago Bar Association, the Women's Bar Association, the Cook County Bar Association, the Justinian Society of Italian Lawyers, the Decalogue Society, the Advocate Society of Polish Lawyers, the Hellenic Bar Association, the Asian American Bar Association, and the Gay and Lesbian Bar Association, to name a few; and
 
WHEREAS, Diann Marsalek's civic involvement includes various leadership positions, including serving as the former president of the Lake View Citizens' Council and the president of the 23rd District Steering Committee; and
 
WHEREAS, Diann Marsalek received her BA in Political Science and her MA in Sociology from DePaul University, and Diann received her JD from Northern Illinois College of Law.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cook County Board of Commissioners does hereby congratulate Diann Marsalek for being named Person of the Year by the Polish American Police Association; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Diann Marsalek at the Polish American Police Association's celebration on May 1, 2015.
