PROPOSED RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING ANDREA GIBSON’S SERVICE TO COOK COUNTY
WHEREAS, Andrea Gibson has been a tremendous asset to Cook County; and
WHEREAS, in her time with Cook County, Andrea has proven herself to be a skilled financial steward, helping increase efficiency and smartly reduce expenditures; and
WHEREAS, she will use her skills to continue at the Cook County Health and Hospital System; and
WHEREAS, Andrea has encouraged smart management, strived to spend wisely and worked to foster long-term stability; and
WHEREAS, from solving budget deficits to working to streamlining government, Andrea has facilitated some important progress in the last couple of years; and
WHEREAS, since joining the Preckwinkle administration four years ago, Gibson has overseen the creation of four budget proposals, resolved over $900 million in budget deficits, pushed for increased transparency and improved efficiency of County operations; and
WHEREAS, before joining Cook County, Andrea served as Deputy Budget Director in the City of Chicago’s Office of Budget and Management; Assistant Budget Director; and Program Director/Assistant to the Commissioner in the City’s Department of Streets and Sanitation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that President Toni Preckwinkle and the Board of Commissioners of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, on behalf of the more than five-and-one-half million residents of Cook County, do hereby acknowledge Andrea Gibson’s outstanding leadership and public service and wish her good health, happiness and continued success in her future endeavors, and may a suitable copy of this Resolution be tendered herewith.
