Summary:  The Department of Transportation and Highways respectfully submits for adoption a resolution appropriating funds for the improvement of roadways at various locations within the City of Chicago, in Cook County.  These improvements, as proposed, will consist of milling and resurfacing of the existing bituminous pavement with hot-mix asphalt or diamond grinding existing concrete pavement and shall include repairing, patching, drainage repairs and adjustments, sidewalk removal and replacement, installation of ADA compliant ramps, traffic control and protection, pavement marking, landscaping, engineering and other necessary highway appurtenances.

 

This improvement will rehabilitate various severely deteriorated roadway segments which suffered from the unusually harsh winter weather and is needed to protect the public investment in the highway system and provide safe, efficient and sustainable highways. .end
