Request: Authorization for the County of Cook on behalf of the Sheriff of Cook County to enter into and execute an Amendment to the Intergovernmental Agreement (“IGA”) with the Chicago Transit Authority for the Sheriff’s Work Alternative Program (“SWAP”) offenders to perform grounds-keeping and maintenance to various properties under the jurisdiction of the Chicago Transit Authority and to authorize the Sheriff of Cook County and Chicago Transit Authority to execute a Second Amendment exercising the second option to renew.

Summary: Authorization for the County of Cook on behalf of the Sheriff of Cook County to enter into and execute an Amendment to the Intergovernmental Agreement (“IGA”) with Chicago Transit Authority for SWAP offenders to perform grounds-keeping and maintenance to various properties under the jurisdiction of the Chicago Transit Authority. The Chicago Transit Authority agrees to reimburse the Sheriff’s Office for the full-time salary and benefits of two (2) SWAP Deputies; the half-time salary and benefits for one (1) sworn supervisor; the cost of transport daily and other associated administrative costs. The total per annum amount shall not exceed $350,000.00. Amendment is also to authorize the Sheriff of Cook County and Chicago Transit Authority to execute a Second Amendment exercising the second option to renew.
