The majority of the increase, $115,000.00, will be used to fund services provided under the Circuit Court’s Drug Treatment Court Program, while the remainder, $152,609.42, is from grant funds of Adult Redeploy Illinois (ARI) Program to pay for services provided under the Circuit Court’s two ARI programs.

McDermott Center provides specialized services to nonviolent adult criminal offenders eligible for participation in the Circuit Court of Cook County’s Drug Treatment Court Program, an alternative sentencing approach for nonviolent offenders serving a probation sentence who have been rearrested for felony drug possession. Participants are supervised by the Circuit Court’s Adult Probation Department. Services provided under this contract include substance abuse treatment, counseling services, and residential-based care billed at hourly and daily rates as applicable. Contract No. 1388-12593 was originally awarded through a competitive Request for Proposal process in accordance with the Cook County Procurement Code.

On 6/10/2015, the Cook County Board of Commissioners approved a third-year grant to operate the Adult Redeploy Illinois (ARI) Program, a court call in Municipal District One, Circuit Court of Cook County. This grant funds community-based services provided to non-violent offenders who have been diverted from the Illinois Department of Corrections under ARI. Adult Redeploy Illinois Program funds are used partly for services provided by the McDermott Center and other providers.

The contract was awarded through the Request for Proposals (RFP) process in accordance with the Cook County Procurement Code.  McDermott Center was awarded this contract based on established evaluation criteria.
