Request: Approval of appropriation of Motor Fuel Tax Funds
Project: The Department of Transportation and Highways respectfully submits for adoption a resolution appropriating funds for the improvement of County Line Road (Mount Prospect Road) from the I-294 Ramp to North Avenue. This improvement, as proposed, will consist of reconstruction, widening and realignment of County Line Road with Portland Cement Concrete pavement, construction of a new southbound exit ramp from I-294 to County Line Road, reconfiguration of the North Avenue (IL 64) and Lake Street (US 20) intersections with County Line Road, bridge improvements at US 20 over IL 64, reconstruction of US 20, IL 64 and Northwest Avenue, construction of two connector roads, construction of a multi-use path and sidewalks, drainage improvements, installation of retaining walls, street lighting and traffic signal improvements, acquisition of right-of-way, installation of signing and pavement markings, landscaping, engineering and other necessary highway appurtenances.

Summary: This improvement is being conducted in partnerships with the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority (ISTHA), the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), the City of Northlake and the City of Elmhurst and will promote economic development, regional mobility, and is needed to protect the public investment in the highway system and provide a safe, efficient and sustainable highway.
